The stalemate continues! The crucial meeting between producers/distributors and multiplexes, which took place on Tuesday [5th May] afternoon, has yielded no results. The producers have been insisting on a 50% revenue share for all weeks, while the multiplexes have offered 50%, 40% and 30% revenue share, it is learnt. The meeting ended with the two sides not arriving at a solution. Meanwhile, the producers and distributors have decided to make a plan to release the films in single screens and independent multiplexes, but not in the national chain of multiplexes. The producers and distributors would now sit together and chalk out the release strategy and also the release dates in the next 10 days, so that the producers can go ahead and releases their films subsequently, after the plan is announced. |
