YRF’s Haddipa is now Dil Bole Haddipa as Yash Chopra failed to convince Sanjay Leela Bhansali to part with the title By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 06, 2009) | | | Dil Bole Haddipa |
Yash Raj Films has been angling for the rights to the title Haddipa for their Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapur starrer. Unfortunately for them, Sanjay Leela Bhansali laid claim to it three years ago. Even after several attempts, Yash Chopra failed to convince Bhansali to part with the title. Yash Chopra, we hear, has no choice but to change his film’s name from Haddipa to Dil Bole Haddipa now. Originally, Bhansali’s sister, Bela Saigal, was supposed to make a film with this title. Though it is yet to go on floors, Bhansali is in no mood to part with it. | Yash Chopra |
Our source said, “YRF consistently requested Bhansali for the title, but he explained that he won’t be able to do it as he has plans to use it. Now, YRF has given up the idea of using Haddipa as their title and has zeroed in on Dil Bole Haddipa for the film.”
The YRF spokesperson was ambivalent about the news, “The film is yet untitled. We will finalise the title by next week.” |
